My brother is looking to get a punto as a first car as its low insurance and all that. I've just started looking at a few and i want to know if there is a good base model to look out for, i.e. eletrics, standard extra,...

I found a 60 s team, I'll go look at it if its any good, but i'd like a heads up first,

cheers.

S has nothing, well its got some, but no electrics.

well the SX your get electric windows, central locking, rev counter, fogs, not alot tbh, but there nice, and better equipment than a corsa or clio for the price.

the elx will have same as the sx plus remote locking, one touch drivers window (love these), colour coded bumpers, electric sunroof, nice interior, 6 speaker stereo, and they come in 75 spec as a 3 door, so 1.2 mpi low insurance, and probably the quickest 1.2 8v available in the uk!

id recommend a 75elx tbh quick, low insurance, good equipment, BUT there not as easy to get as the s and sx models.

thanks guys, Could some of the extra be out into the 60s? We've found one for the right money and it wold be a shame to let it go!!

Its a 98 and goin for a little under a 1000 euro.. It'll need a good clean and a few dint fixed but i'll take care of them.

when i got my sx it was nice, then when the gt came.... it was like (n) lol, cos the gt was just like electric everything! :D (gt has similar electrics to elx btw)

Yep, When my sx was murdered, I really missed her. But when I got my 85elx...didn't look back :D

I think the main difference in the electrics to the GT's is I don't have the alarm.
(And I don't have the little remote locking thing on the sunroof console.)

Yep, we have time so there is no rush to buy one right away.. We've got some plans for wat ever we end up gettin. Only alloys and colour code, maybe port and poshls the head... hehe:p

See if he can strech to getting a Sporting.

Much better car and dont really need anything much doing to them from standard form.

The insurance was a bit of a pain on the sporting, so he went and bought it.. :)
