Since i bought the car when u open the doors they click and drop. I need to no wat to do as there getting worse.two garages have said different. One has said they need new doors as the hinges come with them, another has said i might be able to buy the hinges for the punto but they dont no. also ive been told that i can buy some inserts for them so the hinge is snug against the pin. I've got a 1.2 elx 8v 3 door 2000 mk2. If anyone can help me out i would be grateful as i dont want the doors dropping off any time soon.

Are the 'check strap' bolts tight on A pillar & door? If your feeling brave you can bend the door up...not a job for faint hearted though.

i have an older punto and all i did was tighten the 10mm bolt on the hinge but im not sure it will be as simple as that for you

Im not sure i really want to be bending the door up. Its really starting to annoy me as the door drops and clicks so when people get in there like thinking your cars batterd. If anyone else can help ill take any hints.

1) Tighten door strap bolts
2) Adjust catch on B pillar
3) Bend door

Thats it mate thats all you can do....I do it nearly everyday.Like it or not thats the way it is,theres no miracle cure!

I dont get all this A pillar And B Pillar stuff.As you can tell i aint very car minded at this stuff. I've tried tightening the 10mm bolts, the pin alsp spins on the top one. The bottom one is tight, cant move that one. How much we talking to get this done at the garage cause i dont feel that brave to bend a door, dunno even how u do it.
