I have a JTD Punto 2003, I had an error light engine icon and I went plug my MultiEcuScan the error code was record with details, it said my car mileage is 166,000 but my is actually 147000 miles on cluster, I thought there was something is fish going on here. I went to the Odometer section, it said the last time the odometer was changed at 38,000 miles it was the same day that I purchased the car at the same mileage. Is this possible that the car salesman or previous owner have change the mile back 19,000?

Interesting, 19000 miles is not a big difference on a 18 year old car.
In the UK doesn't the car miles get registered at the MOT? If it's possible to have access to earlier MOT inspections maybe you can have a better idea about that.
Or maybe because of that 19000 is the farthest they can go.

It's funny the multiECUscan doesn't even get any odometer values for me from the engine ECU. I never thought much of it.

I have checked my MOT history, but there is no paper work with mileage before when I purchase the car! Also, the MOT history on GOV.co.uk doesn't show far back to 2007.

If it was just the millage alone I wouldn't be as concerned
But the fact it shows the millage to have been changed at the same time as he purchased the car seems to be very suspicious
