Hi guys I have a 55 plate mk2 punto which failed it's MOT due to overheating during test I figured it out to be the fan which I replaced but now I have the eml light on & using a wee ODB II scanner it shows up the code P0115 I haven't ran the engine up to temp since replacing the fan I did disconnect the temp sensor plug & the fan kicks in & reconnected the plug & it(fan) goes off which is fine the gauge sits at the mid point but the scanner won't let me erase the code.
Is there any way of erasing the code before I put it in for a retest as it would fail again due to a warning light.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks
