Hi all ?

I'm a proud owner of an incredible but sometimes quirky Fiat Punto 2003 MK2B, 1.2 16V Dynamic, and I have been keeping an eye on your forum for some time, as a go-to point for DIY repairs on this great Fiat model.

My problem is the following: the date that appears on my dashboard onboard computer keeps increasing itself randomly, without any pattern whatsoever.

Example: if I park my car today and use it tomorrow, it either doesn't increase the date or sometimes it increases the date one or two days after the correct date; however, if I park my car today and use it only three or four days after, it either doesn't increase the date or it may increase the date eight or nine days after the correct date.

The only mod I have on my car is a gas pump cutter (switch that disables the gas pump).

Thank you very much for all the help!

Well it's a really strange fault. Does the trip computer reset to zero or is it just the date that goes up?
I had a problem with the trip computer and clock constantly resetting to zero, that fixed itself when I put a new battery on it.

Almost impossible to say what’s going on, sounds like a logic problem possibly with the clocks, not something that’s easy to test and replacing parts might be the only option

The trip computer does not reset to zero, it is only the date that changes itself. Will try that approach, thanks! :)
