Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help - someone knocked the mirror off my partner's 2004 Punto the other day. This happened before, and it was simple enough to replace. This time, however, the replacement mirror from Euro Car Parts (made by Macht) has a much larger wiring harness with five wires, whereas the original only has two. I'm happy to snip/crimp the ones I need to the old harness, but I don't know which ones I need as the colours don't match up. I've looked online for a diagram of the Macht mirror to no avail. Anyone replaced with one of these mirrors before? Any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

I just replaced an electric mirror without heating and it had at least 3 wires.

Something does not seem right because with only 2 wires how can you control two mirror directions with a plastic mirror that cannot be grounded to the door?

The manually adjustable mirrors have two 'wires' to connect to the control knob

It gets weirder... Here's what I'm looking at (see photos). On checking the old mirror, though, it looks as though it has a similar harness to the new mirror. So how did it ever go on there? I'm not sure it did! Could it be that some toe rag yanked it off for the few hours I left it mirror-less?

Ok, it looks as though the small pin is for the temperature sensor. The loom for the mirror had fallen down behind the door card! But I can't find the temperature sensor and I can't remember disconnecting it... I'll have to have another look later...

My car has a tweeter at this position with a two pin connector with yellow on it like your one. Wires are two coloured. black purple and salmon pink with black.

So it does! Thank you! I don't know how I missed that! ? Unfortunately I don't think the replacement mirror has a temperature sensor on it, so guess I'll have to forego that now.
