My HGT 1.9 101bhp diesel 2004 has failed the MOT yesterday one of the front bracket on the passenger side that hold the caliper has cracked because of corrosive, it need to replace asap! I have been struggle to find any used bracket because the HGT version have 284mm disc over the original Punto 1.9jtd 85bhp which have 257mm the bracket size are not same!!! I don't really want to buy new from Fiat dealer cos it going be very expensive!

I was hope anyone of you know what the parts number for this bracket? to be able find on eBay in UK or in Europe if they have it! as my bracket is rust I cannot see any ref number on it? if anyone know other Fiat/Alfa model that share same size 284mm disc mind have the same bracket size as my HGT?

I would really really appreciate if any reply thanks(y) I can't drive till I find this bracket!!!

Find an engineering firm local to you who can repair the bracket you have. A good weld will easily resolve the problem.

Having owned one of these myself in the past I can tell you finding spares is incredibly difficult and can be very expensive. Generally for something like this your only hope may be the fiat dealership parts counter, a journey I made many times when I had mine for things you wouldn’t think would be difficult to find.

Are you nuts?
Suspension, steering and brakes are critical safety systems.
You don't casually weld anything there. That's asking for trouble ("cruising for bruising").
Plus, it's probably cast iron (type doesn't help much, like grey VS ductile).
Yes, it can be welded (or brazed), but in the stationary equipment, machine parts reconditioning, not in the vehicle.

PS
It's probably illegal too. Ask the MOT guy (same place where you've failed it) is it "OK"...
