Hi there

The problem I have is that the left hand wiper blade does not work whereas the driver side one does. I got a quote from a garage who having looked under the bonnet (I could see where the mechanism was disconnected) said I'd need a completely new wiper blade mechanism (linkage) and that it would cost about £200.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of problem and roughly how much it would cost to fix or get a replacement etc.

By the way, I'm new to this forum and know didly squat about cars. Any help is much appreciated

does anyone have any experence lol wiper linkage fialuer is one of the most common problems on a mk2 punto so yep we do what car is yours by the way ????

£200 is over priced

on the mk2 the linkage is a one peice unit with motor included. you can get them new for about £110 at fiat or about £85 online. took about an hour for me to fit.

i think mk1 punto linkage is cheaper.

also whilst you have the motor off get garage to clean out the grease in it and put new in, fiat used the wrong grease when they was made,

my dad took my wiper linkage out and put it back in in an hour today, its really easy even I can do it now, gonna order one of those ones dave said and get it sorted.
