So recently we had a couple of rainy days where I live and I've noticed a strange smell in the car. I went looking after it and I found that the drivers side footwell is soaked. Cleaned out the two drains under the hood. One was clogged up. No rain for a few days so the car dried out. Today the rain started again, the footwell got wet again so I started looking for additional leaks. Just a few hours ago I noticed that the headliner is also wet on both sides, near the sun shades. Doors are both dry, don't have a sunroof.

I'm looking for tips, where should I be looking for the leak?

Windscreen seal?
Radio antenna?

No luck at the antenna. Likely Windscreen... can't really check or fix that myself I guess.

That depends
Can you remove a sunshade or two and get the headlining and trim away from the windscreen. If it it there, which sounds likely, the source should have obvious water marks. A bit of sealer in the right place, preferable on the outside could work wonders.

If the rain stops tomorrow I will give that a try

No luck taking off the headliner, the A pillar cover is so brittle it falls apart in my hands. Don't want to force it anymore, maybe if I find a replacement I will give it another go.

Quick little update: last week I cleaned out the channel on the two sides of the windshield. It was full with some kind of swamp smelling dirt . Today rained and no leak so far. This might have fixed my issue.
