Hello guys, i have a 1.4 2004 16v sporting, i have misfiring happening and got the codes of

P0300
P0304-cylinder 4-misfire detected
P0302-cylinder 2 misfire detected-pending

i have changed the sparks plugs and all four of the ignition coils and cannot see any damage to the wiring any suggestions and help would be much appreciated as i cant seem to find much info on the codes

The engine computer checks the rate at which the notches on the crankshaft are moving past the crank sensor and knows when each cylinder has got a spark for the power stroke to accelerate the engine for the next revolution. So if the engine does not accelerate and just carries on slowing down the computer can record a misfire or lack of power for that cylinder. The code is related to no combustion rather than no sparking.

With no other information the computer has no way to report what is causing the misfire. If there are no electrical problems the causes could be head gasket, air/fuel, valves, piston rings - anything that will cause those cylinders to have a complete lack of power. The odd misfire will not create the code.
