Trouble is most Ebay sellers don't know what they are selling. The chip supplied with that key is being quoted as a t5. T5 is an emulator chip for making clones of the old fixed code transponders. Which is fine for making a copy of a mk1 Punto transponder key if you have a cloner but can't be programmed using the master key system. And no use whatsoever for a mk2 or mk2b Punto.

I believe the mk2 uses a Megamoss chip?
Thats what timpsons told me they use

Ziggy

Both Mk1 and Mk2 use Megamos chips. Mk1 uses the old Megamos 13 fixed code chip which can be copied easilly. All the mk2 Puntos used Megamos 48 which work on a challenge and response basis. That are supplied coded specifically for each car when supplied by Fiat.
