My engine splutters, both in cold which I would expect adn when the car has reach temperature and has been driving for a while. It also has a strong splutter when the car is idle. Any suggestions to what is causing this?

Its a brand new car, collected it end of August.
Hasn't even done 900 miles yet!
The car was rattling when I pressed down on the accelarator pedal (this is when the car is cold) I took it back to the garage to try and get that sorted. Its still has the rattle but not as bad as it was. I mentioned the spluttering when I took it back, but just seems to be as bad.

Send it back to garage and tell them to sort it out pronto. Dont be affraid to make a fuss. If you raise your voice in the sales room it puts off other customers and its amasing how quick it'll get sorted. Do this as many times as is needed. Saturday dinner time when they're busy always seems to do the trick.

If you still have problems phone fiat customer care UK and they will lean on the dealership for you. I'll try and dig out the number.

Does it? Faces/cars are easily remembered & I will guarantee you next time you go there for work done you will get shafted £££ (y)
Nobody likes/deserves being spoken to like that, even garage managers.Conduct an adult firm approach with the manager, show him the fault/concern and you will get a better response.

TBH I am going to try another dealership. I was pleased with the office staff when I booked it in. As he just said the noise was just normal. But I told him it wasn't right as both my dad and myself have had/got Puntos.
I waited 2 weeks until I could take my car in as that was the only time I could take it in and get a courtesy car. On collectign the courtesy car, I found the car to be a wreck. Rust on the front of the car, the interior was filthy, its smelt, bits everywhere, hair, steering wheel was sticky, it was though someone had been sick in the car! Disgusting!

not if you dont pay for anything because the car is under warranty!!

dont intend to take it to dealership when it has run out. look at the problems i have had with the car and previous threads. It worked for me. Its just my advice you dont have to take it.
