After doing research using this fourm, and also a haynes manual, i found (what I thought would be) the speedo sensor for my vehicle.

When I look at the place where the illustrations below seem to locate it being, there is just a black hexagonal shaped piece of plastic

Any suggestions where it may be?

Additonal info:
Has ABS
Is manual, 5 gears.
On the dash, red (!) is shown with ABS light constantly ON

Thank you for the fast response Flisko, I assumed this may have been the case a while ago. I have managed to test the two front wheel sensors with a multi-meter - both seem fine, is there any to easily test the rear sensors as it was the front (simple unplug and test) - I have drum brakes.

dunno about that i never opened rear drums with abs but shouldnt be that hard

Does anyone have an idea of where the rear ABS sensor is connected? (not the sensor its self, the cable)

you can do 2 tests with the ABS sensors with a multi-meter
See if it has the specific resistance thats stated on somethinglike autodata

and you can do a A/C voltage test, as thats how the sensors work - unless they are fully digital - which i dowt

Put meter on the cables set to A/C voltage, and spin it as fast as you can
if you get a voltage - Your sensor is looking good
But just because its producing a voltage doesn't mean its a good sensor
The Waveform could be rough - and the abs unit doesn't understand it

A best diagnosis is to get a live data read out while driving tbh

Rear drum ABS sensors clip into the back of the drum assembly, no need to take everything apart just look at the back of the brakes.

All this faffing about is made much easier if you just plug into the OBD port and fire up multiecuscan

That said have you checked the basics like whether or not the ABS fuse hasn't blown ?

The Abs fuse is blown - i'd like to know why....
The Handbrake light could be on due to low brake fluid - the abs may have seen this low fluid and has shut off to prevent internal damage
So it might be worth just checking the brake fluid

If the fluids low - or none
FIND OUT WHY

Thank you for all the responses,
I found where the rear ABS sensors connected (under the back seats).

Using a multi-meter i was able to test the resistance, all four giving approx. reading of 1000 ohms.

When doing a voltage test (rotating the wheels) it seemed that only the front drivers side wheel gave off a reading.

I've checked brake fluid and its fine. Also fuses are fine.

Not sure to go from here really, I've made the assumption (correct me if i'm wrong) that there is a possibility that only the front wheels are used for the speedometer reading, so today I will take it apart the passenger side wheel and make sure its clean from all debris that may be interfering with the sensor.

UPDATE:
Passenger side abs sensor.... this doesn't look so good :(
