Sister`s car has started to have a intermittent problem when i goes on two cylinders and EML light illuminates. I plugged my scanner in and i get fault code P0352 which is ignition coil b. I can clear the codes and it will be fine for a week or so. I have read many post about it saying it could be ECU ect but none say there problem is intermittent?

So where should i start? Thanks

Swap coils over and see if fault moves

yes move coils over
If the fault code re-occours the same - coil B when infact it was Coil A in coil B's spot
it could be a failing ECU, or a wiring fault

If the fault code moves to Coil A - Then its a dying coil

A little bit of wd40 to coat the pins and shaken the excess off can sometimes all a intermitant fault can be

Ok will try that, but swap the connectors over or physically move them over?

Physically swap them or the ignition timing will be out,

you will need to remove the ht leads from the each coil and the connector off each, then swap the coils over so A is B and B is A then reconnect the wires but on the
I'll quickly draw a diagram and upload for you

Im not sure how long the ht leads are just to swap the ht leads and connectors over, some of the leads can be very short

Ok so i swapped the packs over and sure enough im now getting code p0351. Going replace both coils and all leads while im at it.

So the fault moved with the coil pack - its a clear diagnosis of a failed pack

Tbh i'd be very very tempted to spend a little extra dosh and over-haul the ignition system
Ie
New coils that you already need
Plus New HT's and New spark plugs

It should eliminate and ignition related issues for a long time

Hello. I have a Fiat Panda since 2008, 1.1 engine, in the UK if for a while the LED was on, check the engine and I haven't given importance but for some time it is only lit, and the car does not accelerate normally and when it is on the spot trembling from all joints plus increased gasoline consumption. I was at the service I changed everything on it, injectors, electric coils, cables but the problem persists. I tried to reset the ECU but nothing, it works ok for 30-40 minutes then it goes crazy. What do you think it could be? I do not mind them at all and as if I would not throw away to change ECU only as the last option. I also attach the picture from the tester as it can help and thanks in advance for the help.

Thought I would continue this thread rather than start a fresh.

2006 Mk2b Punto with near identical symptoms to the original poster. Intermittent P0352 fault. Both coils, all 4 leads and plugs recently changed also along with a service. Leads and plugs were well overdue!

Ran well for 30 miles or so then upon restarting it definitely wasn't firing on all cylinders, massively underpowered and struggling to rev. P0352 showing again.

Really random fault and turning off then back on car again can sometimes get it running back normally. I am at a bit of a loss what to look into next
