Hi i have a 1999 punto hgt , the bottom engine mount had sheared off and under inspection i see some ones done a crap job of a previous weld repair on it.
is there a specific bolt to be obtained to bolt on the dog bone or will i have to re bodge it, if i gotta re weld it im considering welding a plate over the base of this bolt to strenghten the intergity of it ( stop it braking again whilst im having my fun doing a 0-60 test- not good when it brakes and bangs n clunks)

any info appreciated..(y)

Hi,

Is it just the bolt thats broken? If so they are available from Fiat. If its sheered off part of the mount then again thats available from fiat or aftermarket easily enough. The nut is also available.

im assuming its not an original bolt that was currently attached, its a hex top bolt with nut to attach,

the recess hole is round, couldnt see any threads for a bolt to go into it at subframe end and isnot a whole all the way through for bolting through subframe, although that qould be pointless unlee it was to be a wobbly bolt construction...

heres a picture of the parts.... numbers 6,7 and 9 is whats knackered on mine

are the bolts just supposed to screw in then?

ill post a picture later of the bolt i currently have as am at work at the moment.(finish at 11pm)

Hi,

The bolt should be just an M12 bolt if you want to do a quick bodge repair. That sound like what had been done previously though.

the nut is 15503811 (part 6 in your diagram)
the spacer is 46763910 (part 7 in your diagram)

there are two variations for the bolt (part 9 in your diagram) depending on if you have the modified engine mount fixing (this is a common problem)
46761793 - 110 mm long
60653431 - 130 mm long

I would suggest you have the 110mm one and the non modified mount (as yours has failed) but its best to check.

All of those parts are available from fiat for no more that a few quid each.

As I said above, its essentially an M12 bolt so should be possible to make up your own if you so wish.

hope that helps,
Alan

so how is it originally seated into the subframe?as its not a bolt through piece, and cant see a thread ( will look again) even if there were a thread it couldnt be more than a couple of turns..
Question, if i turned the bolt around, would it screw into the subframe?
