I'm preparing to do my first CVT oil change on my 2003 Punto Speedgear  (yes, yes, yes, I know it's overdue), but after countless web searches, I'm still not sure how big my sump is. Some say 2ltrs approx, others say 3.6ltrs. Even on here, opinion's divided! I'd just like to know if there's anyone here willing to give me something definitive (preferably a fellow Speedgear owner) and be so confident, they're prepared to smash their head against a brick wall if proved wrong! :bang: Whatever that person says - I'll believe. I just need to know how many bottles of Tutela NG I need to be ordering. Shop4Parts may be the cheapest, but it's still coming to £60 with VAT and everything else for four 1 litre bottles, so I don't want to be spending what I don't need to.

Thanks for your help.

i dont know any cheap fiat dealers in leeds, was there no one in traders section cheaper?

I paid just over £40 for mine (including postage from Italy -- as no-one had them in stock, at the time...), about a year ago: but I notice Partsworld are now doing them for £34.99 on eBay.

Although my next CVT oil change isn't due for another year, I've therefore just ordered one! :D

PS: If ordered from their website, FF members get a 10% discount... -- which brings the price down by a couple of quid, with postage included. (y)

 ....

The question was supposed to be a response to comment #9 . I wasn't sure if you were pointing me towards cheap filters in my area or CVT oil. Anyhow, I've ordered 4 bottles of pink stuff from shop4parts. I'll make a donation for that 10% deal some other time.

CVT sump plug isn't budging either way. Can anyone tell me which direction is correct, please? From the front of the car the plug is around the back of the sump. Do I go clockwise or counter with my 17mm spanner? Cheers.

Done it. Didn't want to force it wrong way in case I busted the thread but after checking another nut on the car and then a few light taps with a hammer, it began to loosen.

For anyone else wondering, with the spanner hanging down, you're pulling it towards the driver.

HAHA! After finishing my lunch, having left the oil to run out completely, I'm onto the filter now. Guess what? Won't budge. Got my wrench on it (the teethy ones like plumbers pliers) and it will not move. Not exactly roomy down there and even an attempt at the old hammer & screwdriver trick didn't give me much space either.

Tips anyone? Before I start headbutting the bonnet.
