Fiat Punto 1.9 HLX JTD.

I am trying to change the oil but I am struggling with the drain plug.

What actually fits it.

It's a female type of star head thing.
I have tried 7mm and 8mm hex shaped allens keys, but too small and doesn't fit, respectively.

I can get a 8mm screw driver head into it, but can't get enough torque.

Is it a torx headed plug? If so what size will fit it?

I have just bought a 8mm square headed drain plug socket thing to try, will this be any good?

Why do the easy jobs always turn out hard????

Thanks in advance.

P.S The drain plug is on the underneath of the sump, at the back drivers side as you look at it from underneath, whilst grovelling about on your back in the dirt and grime!

Just for completeness.

It is a T50 Torx fitting.

Ended up being so tightly done up that I runined the 'head' and resorted to my faithful old Mole Grips :)

I had to use mole grips on mine along with a clamp thing which had a end which fitted the plug.

They are ****in massive plugs lol

Mole Grips every time :)
