A very sad day for me. My darling 1.2 Active was violated last night by having the door bent back, unlocked and had the airbag taken out.

Firstly could you all give some thoughts on how cheap/easy to fix it is? The glovebox and dash were torn out. See pic.

Secondly how can I prevent this happening again with entry via the door? Would an alarm be a useful fitting?

Thanks all

Thanks Ziggy (Legend!)

Do you think they'll come back again to do it again? Because I can't keep letting this happen! What do you think?

they were after your face off
im seeing this more lately
desperate people stealing to sell to cash suppliers so they can feed their drug habit
your airbag is untouched
buy a new glovebox from a scrappy or if you believe they might come back then leave the glovebox open every time you park up
see they didnt even want your cds in case they get traced by them

Hi there

yeah I reported it to the police and have a crime ref no, but you think that they didn't take the airbag then? There was definitely an airbag there because the light would go on and off as and when I switched the airbag on/off.

also they didn't take the stereo or TomTom so they just wanted the airbag - which is still there?? I don't get it!!

Anyone else had to replace it and knows the cost of repair (more or less!)

:)

your airbag is still there its above glove box, maybe they got scared off and left empty handed, they could have disturbed airbag wiring un-plugged it or cut wires,

is airbag light stuck on now?

they have probably damaged wiring if its a mk2 seeing as wiring very near glove box lid that causes all the airbag light problems
modified loom on mk2b so johhny thief wouldnt damage them unless he got really silly

ideally this car probably needs expert help to reconnect passengar airbag loom back together
