Hi all,

I beg your experience and knowledge in Mechanical / Electronic to help me solve a problem on my Fiat Punto which has only 93000 km. Note that the injection pump is a pump Lucas (electronic).

I explain my problem:
The car will not start if I'm speeding by starting at high revs. If I raise the foot, the car stalls. I just roll with it, but every time I let go of the accelerator pedal, the car will stall (at low speed). LED lights (injection) by intermitance irregularly but especially when I loose the accelerator pedal.
It grazes slightly when the engine is running.

Note that the fuel pump is not clogged. Against by the fuel filter is not filled with diesel. The mecano to help me solve the problem try to fill a syringe to see if it starts better, but empty it quickly and say that it is not powered or improperly fed.

Thank you very much for your help, the vehicle rolls over now, waiting to solve the problem.

There is no injection light on the mk2 punto
I think you mean the engine management light?
If so
The light comes on if a fault code has been generated
download fiat ecu scan(now called multi ecu scan)
Get a cheap vag com or elm 247 (ithink thats the latest) and see what fault codes you get and post them up on here

Stalling and refusing to start sounds like a fuel problem
possibly high pressure pump if the low pressure pump is working okay

Hi all,

After several tests, it seems to me we identify the problem.
Here is what has been done:
- A pear valve (diesel) has been put in place to facilitate the pump.
- The fuel cap did not seem to pass the air, so a mini hole was made on the cap to let the air go.

When I try the car was idling but occasionally, the car accelerates (up in the towers) alone slightly. Sometimes more when it is stationary with the engine running, it accelerates slightly and hold.

The next morning I took the car and once again the same symptoms as before.
In addition, the fuel gauge only went back over (despite the 25l in the tank) and the fuel warning light flashing.
Insistence after the restart, more juice in the battery.
Charging the battery, test the car to move faster still remaining as before, and hop a donkey and the gauge goes up, idle and would several meters after the hop again.
I turn off the car, the key lucas pump cable (red, green and small electrical cable), I start the car and nickel, the car would not idle and the light that illuminates (injection or control).

I think there is a loose connection on the cables go around the pump.

Hi Ziggy122,
I left the car in a garage, here is the code default: Problem sensor rotor.
He proposes to replace the sensor rotor.
What do you think?
Thanks.
