Hi all, new to this need help!

My drivers side eletric window motor isnt working. I've replaced the motor from a scrap yard, I've also tested the power and its reading 9v. I've taken the switch off and the PCP seems fine with no rust or solder fallen off. I've checked the fuses and it was blown, replaced it tried the window and it blew again, replaced the fuse AGAIN and nothing... No fuse blowing and no window working still, any ideas?

Also how do you attach the motor to the wire of the regulator? i saw on a fourm somewhere you just pop the motor back in and its done but mine seems to be not going in properly.

Thanks.
Mike

Fuse popping = a current higher then the fuse stated been drawn

So a wire thats earthing on the body = Short circuit
A resistive track due to a poor connection somewhere = heat and high current = Fuse blown
the Motors are way to thirsty = Fuse blown
the linkages have seized - motor draws to much = fuse blown

the fuses are doing there job

My worry is - if the fuse is blowing and you pop another 1 in, that the wiring is taking a serious beating

Also pretty sure the motors are 12v NOT 9v - correct me if im wrong
Also - are you 100% sure the donor motor was good? ie tested it before fitting?

+1 to Ziggy. My idea is checking correct motor voltage and checking wire condition.
If motor didn't work after two fuse blowing, it could has temperature protection. That's why your fuse didn't blow the third time. Or motor's blow.

Same problem here - dead motor but no fuses blown. The switch is working. Isn't there also a relay in the system? Could be bad relay. Are there two for each window?
BE AWARE that there are different motors for same model! The one that i ordered from scrap yard is much different and won't fit.
