Anyone else with this engine notice the air intake hose points towards a bit of metal on the left hand side of the engine compartment? and theres like 3cm clearance, how is it meant to get any air in there??!!

Would it be a good idea to move the intake hose so it faces forward a bit?

Its supposed to be there, avoiding hot air from the top/middle of the engine Could try and move it forward, but watch you dont snap the bracket where it connects to the airbox.

It's definately meant to be there, I did wonder about that when I first saw it too.

We have to assume (or hope) that Fiat put some thought into it though!!!

I've moved mine just above the radiator to the right, coming off my BMC CDA, do you think this is a good enough airflow, the car seems ok.??

Ive got a mk2 1.2 8v and my air pipe is pointed towards a hole on the left of the engine compartment wall the air comes up from the wheel arch.
