I've just soldered new cable to the back of my headunit connecting to the rear speakers (there was cable there already but some where along the way it didn't connect to the ISO). Does anyone know what needs to be removed... ugh, to feed the cable 'neatly' from the back of the headunit out and into the side paneling/carpet etc? I just need to know the very first bit, getting it out from behind the glovebox or wherever the rest of it goes.

Cheers!

This guide should help... -- I hope...!

Good luck...! (y)

Cheers guys, I went with the pull pull pull method - worked a treat.

The only downside: I measured the cable only long enough for one side

If I add cable length to one side should I add it to the other or does a meter or so not really matter

its only two philips screws on the sill kick so why not undo them grasp it and pull it up
theres loads of room for cables and this takes you right to the rear seat squab

the runner is what i meant as the kick plate things

you went on to mention hose pipes:D
i ran a wire down from the audio head unit to the cig lighter the other week and if you look its full of sharp edges all the way down from the crash cage on the fascia so i actually ran this single cable down some rubber washer pipe to protect it

Hose pipe will also help get it from the rear passengers to the boot a lil easier :)

But yea washer tube aint a bad idea :)
warm it up - slide the wire through - win win :)

Btw S+B if my wiring has a Yellow and red wires there - can i just move that pin so my HU will switch on?

on your punto there is only one live and that is live irrespective of ignition on
the other cables on the iso plug are canbus and earth
other plug speakers
if you wire red and yellow together this will maintain radio station memories but depending on make of radio the off switch might only turn the main power transistors off and so over a weekend on non use you can end up with a flat battery something i often have to contend with if i have a long weekend off
this is why i wired my ignition wire through the ignition switched cig lighter but i am aware its still a problem when im parked up but engine not running

this all assumes you are talking different head unit to factory of course

make sure those can bus leads dont connect to any wires in your new head unit lead too

ok?:)

Sounds easier to get an adaptor lead set and ensure the 2 pink iso wires aren't touching owt....
