Today my jtd punto 01' started to bounce on every little bump. Went home, and checked the rear. Both rear shocks had pissed themselves(so to speak). How can that happen to both shocks at exactly the same time. Car has done 210k km(130kmiles). They weren't noisy or anything the day before. Now the rear has allmost no dampening, only bouncing up n down.

its possible one leaked and then the other failed because it was doing twice the work
if you replace yourself get as much rust off the showing thread in the beam bottom bolt before you attempt to remove it or they seize solid halfway out
i prefer to clean oil and windy gun these out in a hold finger on trigger and go for it action in one

You may not have realized that they were shot. Under the car the springs help for them to work for a while longer to squeeze the last out of them.

I have just recently renewed my rear shock absorbers. Testing them one of them juddered to release and the other got stuck altogether and had to pull with force to release.

This is one of my old ones compared to the new one.

What ever reason, age, bad roads, or just faulty. Shock absorbers are best replaced in pairs.
That is, if you think just the one has gone. Some people only replace the one.

Wow guys thank u for your informative responses. And yes i plan to change both of them myself. I've ordered a pair of Sachs. The old ones have seen their share (roads in lithuania are beyond horrible).
