The title says most of it but...I owned a Mk1 Punto a few years ago and have now just started driving a Mk2 Punto however I have noticed the fuel pump runs all the time even when the engine is running.

My question is, is this normal?

I can't remember really if it use to do this on my old car or if this is normal? I just thought the electric fuel pump was to start the car on then a mechanical pump or induction would pump the fuel once runnning? Thanks for any help and Merry Christmas everyone!

Ok cool, I just didn't want it to be running because it was leaking fuel out somewhere. Makes sense though if it's purely pumped by the electric pump in the tank for it to run constantly.

Thanks for the reassurance folks!
