Here I think. It's held onto the black plastic inlet manifold by two screws. But what makes you think the MAP sensor is fubar?

do i have to remove the black cover (air filter) 2?

well, if you plan to clean only map/iat sensor you do not have to remove air filter box. you will need torx screwdriver and be gentle with plastic wire connector. i suggest to remove minus pole from batery before operation, and self learning procedure after cleaning and return battery minus pole. try to find topic "phonic wheel self learning procedure" for fire engine, usefull after disangage battery on fire FIAT engines...

on a punto mk1 maybe... on 2006 punto i dont thing so...

I am really not sure, but think its depend of condition of internal ecu batt or some internal ecu capacitor which hold power for bios. But its only my opinion and Im not relevant...

i had reset ford ecu once .. calling hard reset ... take off both wires from battery ,connect together plus and minus terminals (with wire) ... not sure it will work on fiats..... somebody would comment that ?

i cleaned the MAP sensor but the problem remain.
i sprayed carb cleaner on the camshaft sensor and the problem almost gone. but it is very difficult to get to the camshaft sensor. is there an easy whey?

It sounds like the cam sensor is faulty or has a bad wiring connection. A Haynes manual is a good tool to have. See Abe Books.co.uk for the best prices.
