Are the ignition coils for the 1.1 and 1.2 8V the same for mk1 - mk2/b engines?
I found a listing on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....ory=10382&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_1266wt_901

But i'm not 100% that they are the same?

Our mk2/b is arcing above the coils - i replaced the HT leads yeserday along with spark plugs & oil service but the arcing only got worse:(
Before : only arced above 1600rpm
Now: arcs all over rev range unless on full throttle - no arcing:confused: i assume it's to do with increased demand?

Cheers all(y)

Have you tried really cleaning the tops of the coils
as old oil damp spray can hold moisture and cause
the spark to track to earth as it takes the line of
least resistance. Clean with a good scourer down to
the plastic and use meths or isopropanol to clean
down afterwards. Only olther reason for tracking
is cracks in the insulation.

Cool, it just so happens i have the coils from my mk1 lying around, i'll pop 'em on the mk2/b and see if they work, - the coils on there atm are crackling and sparking so i assume they are shot:p

To close this thread following a few related pm's:

The ignition coils form the mk1, mk2 and mk2b for the 8v petrol engines are the same and can be swapped without issues.

Hope this helps.

I would have thought possibly Panda's and Ciuq possibly share the same heritage?

However the GP and possibly new panda's aren't, as i think there direct coil fitment?
