Right, I need to bleed the brakes as there is definately a lot of air in it, whats the right process?

I've been told this:

1. Start Engine
2. Open Master Cylinder
3. Make sure its full
4. Start at back passenger side wheel, get assistant to pump a few times, then hold pedal in.
5. Connect bleed tube.
6. Open bleed screw 1/4 of a turn for about a second, then do back up.
7. Assistant to let pedal back up gently.
8. Check master cylinder still has enough fluid
9. Do 6-7-8 a few times until air is expelled.
10. Move on to the drivers rear wheel, then the drivers front, then passenger front, doing 6-7-8-9 until all air out.

Is this right? Any help much appreciated
cheers

That's more or less right. You don't need to have the engine running though. I'm not sure what the wheel sequence is, it varies depending upon manufacturer. Some say start with the rear wheel furthest away from master cylinder, then front nearest, then other rear and then other front but that can vary. Go to Halfords and find a Haynes manual that's been opened so that you can sneak a peek at the bleeding sequence.

If you've got a bleeding kit with a non-return valve, you can do it all yourself. I usually top the fluid back up after every five or six pumps to make sure it doesn't get too low.
