Apologies if this goes twice, having probs with my connection :(

Do I have this right chaps, would it be a good idea to use a 5W/40 in the winter and a 10/W40 in the summer time?

I know its not strictly necessary but if it helps my engine then i'll give it a whirl :)

Thanks as ever (y)

I wouldn't bother. Stick with the 10W/40. From your location you don't really have a winter ( or summer for that matter). Remember in places like Turin the difference between summer and winter can be more than 40 degrees.
Is there a difference in the oils? - yes. Will you notice the difference? - well maybe with one eye closed. Change it as per Fiat intervals with the filter and chillax man.

Thanks guys, 10W40 it is then.

For the record though, last winter we had was a really bad one :(

5W 40 circulates faster when cold than 10W 40. If you can get some cheap then why not summer or winter, but otherwise in UK use 10W 40.
