hi i recently bought a '00 fiat punto 1242 and i want to know what kind of oil should be used in it?? synthetic, semi-synthetic?? could someone help?

i also need to know what kind of a rocker cover gasket i would need for it as it needs to be replaced.

id also like to know if anyone has issues with the fan not running and the car burning oil and water as a result of this. as there is no temp guage in the car just a warning light that does not come on. and are they able to run at a higher temp than your average car.

please help!!!!!

you need 10w40 semi-synthetic oil

If you are losing oil and water but no leaks it looks like you've bought a car with the Head gasket going...
10W40 semi-synthetic as mentioned but get tested for HG failure. When headgasket is replaced you'll need to find out why. Maybe fan not coming on, maybe faulty temp sensor? Thermostat, water pump etc. Can all cause it to blow. Or even simply an air bubble that was never bled out of the system!

You should never put just water in, it doesnt have the same cooling properties and causes corrosion within the radiator and in the engine block. Coolant goes in for a reason!
