Does anyone know where I can buy a set of headlights with black surrounds, for a Mk2b? I'm referring to the ones where the chrome surround, inside the clear plexiglass cover, has been painted black.
I considered modding a set of headlamps myself, but I don't really have the talent or the knowledge to do it without FUBAR'ing it, so I gave that idea a miss.

There are a few places that sell these on the mainland (Eur 159 per pair is the average price), but they are all designed for driving on mainland roads. No one seems to stock lights for driving in UK.
As these are factory produced kits, there have to be variations for the UK market.

Otherwise, if someone knows of an easy way to change the lenses of a mainland headlight or...even better... an easy to follow 'headlights for dummies' type tutorial in modding......

from what i know u cant buy them like that u have to either mod them yourself or have them modded for u

maybe you could try talking to a person on here called brin im sure he could give u a few pointers

I'd be happy trying my hand at doing it, but would really need that 'headlights for dummies' tutorial before I even think about attempting it.
Pity, as it is the just about the last mod I still need to do.
I'm still debating with myself about cc mirrors, but am not overly convinced.

yeh i would say cc'd the mirrors
also yeh brin has a mk2 but he will be able to explain how to cut them open and how to do the thing you want too

why yes i will

btw i can make you these headlights if you want and even add custom moulded angel eyes if you want, you will have to supply the headlights to me to mod tho iv PM'ed you about this, or just ask and i will help you where to cut and bond the headlights from and how to strip it out.
