Hi all
I am experiencing some probs with a mk 2 I am currently preping for sale. In short I fitted a new clutch as the original had just started to slip. The reason was obvious once inside. Oil everywhere and the drive plate was onto the rivets.
Problem is the oil that is leaking in is redish in colour suggesting to me at least that someone has put ATF in the box. The seal behind the flywheel has a very slight leak but nothin serious. Has anyone else come across simillar and does anyone know how the input shaft into the box is sealed.
My thought is to put proper oil in and see if this solves the prob as I think this is thicker viscosity than the ATF i suspect is in there and as such may not get past any seals so easily
