Hi, is it a mk1 punto? If the leak is just in front of the drivers side back wheel then most likely just the fuel filter leaking, £15 to buy maybe and a 10 min fit, if it's the pump thats a bit more expensive, but i don't know where they are on a mk1.

lift rear seat, undo the round metal plate--three screws-- you will see top of fuel pump, be very careful after a while the place where pipes connect become brittle and break off very easily, turn on engine you will see without disturbing anything if fuel leaking from here

My money -- given Mk1 -- would be on the fuel filter. Crawling about underneath should pinpoint the leak.

agree with other posts; fuel filter most likely; often missed on service and exposed so corrode; easy to change as they have push on/off connectors that self seal when pulled off so you don't get petrol everywhere; it does mean lying down in the snow tho unless you have a nice heated garage with a pit like I have.........
