Went to change rear shoes at weekend, got my new ones and they dont fit took them back to shop they only do two types they dont fit. Took a deep breath and went to fiat apparently mines got different rear brakes on they have come across this a few times they rang a motor factors they use so went there with new part number and they are wrong they checked 5 different punto sets none are the same, can anybody help starting to lose the will its a 2001 1.2 8v thanks in advance:bang:

where the hand brake cable clips in on the back theres a plate that swivels and theres a peg with a spring on to push the plate back all the ones ive looked at dont have this peg this peg is at a 90 degree angle

its not a great one. the spring fits on the little peg on the left of the small swiveling plate

Just saw this old message. I have a similar problem with my 1.3 JTD Multijet Active (04 reg). The original shoes have a complicated handbrake clip with a peg through it and a small spring bearing on the end. The replacement shoes I've been offered do not have this clip assembly, just the curved 'bridge' that goes over the end of the cable. Tried three different sources. The original brakes a coloured gold which may give an idea of the manufacturer.
I all other respects the new shoes and handbrake actuater arm look identical.
MOT is looming so need toget this right!
