Hi. I have a Punto mk2 1.2 16V 80bhp (2000-model) with a broken gearbox. Just ordered a gearbox from a mk2 1.2 8V 60bhp. Will it fit? I noticed that the clutch is different, 180 mm vs 190 mm. Same number of splines (20). So if the gearbox fits, which clutch do I need.... Are the gear ratios the same? Thanks.

It will fit as the 6 speed sporting box fits the 8v no worries.

Thanks! Will both clutches fit (180mm and 190mm), if not which one should I use? (and why are the clutches different...) Is this only influenced by the flywheel?

I assume that the different gear ratios will actually improve acceleration but reduce top speed a bit?

Do you recommend replacing driveshaft oil-seals when changing the gearbox?
