I changed my engine on my MK2 1.2 8v Punto at the weekend:slayer:

All seemed fine, however now the car hesitates!! This happens sometimes when pulling off, when changing gear, and whilst driving and gets worse as the car gets warmer.

I have so far put new plugs in, new leads, changed the throttle body over, and checked the vacuum hoses:eek:

The fan kicks in as expected, so I presume that rules out the temp sensor?

Unplugged the lambda sensor, and I got the same symptoms, though worse (car would barely move).

The plugs I took out were black, suggesting a rich mixture?

I could really do with some help as I'm getting desperate!! PLEASE:worship:

Forgot to say

Car ticks over without fault, sounds lovely and idles without fluctuation. Because of this I'm guessing it's not an injector fault!

Loads of threads on here about it....

Coil Packs my guess ;)

£24 a pair on ebay or £67.44 +vat each at FIAT (y)

Check the camshaft sensor and the flywheel sensor. I don't exactly know if this also applies to gas engines, but it causes the symptoms mentioned on diesel engines.

change the oil. on my old punto wrong oil caused the engine to refuse to rev and a big delay upon acceleration and decceleration.
