hi guys i was just driving home then and my car started to overheat i pulled over and got the rac out. he said its the heater matrix i know it as pain in the butt to do but has anyone ever had theres done how much is it gunna cost ? can i drive it but without the heaters on i have put some radweld in pleaz help cos my little punto is costing me loads at the mo

if the rad weld didnt work you can by pass it untill you got time to replace it, take both the pipes off and join them with a bit of copper pipe and jubile clips, dont forget for rad weld to work you would have had to have the heater control on hot, its £70 ish for the new matrix and its an all day job to replace it

edit dont forget if you bypass it your windows wont demist,

there are a few poeple around who have change their own and its a real pain to do. I attempted mine but gave up as you have to take the whole dashboard off. I was qouted £150 to have mine replaced and judging buy the time involved to do it that was a bargin. I initially bypassed my matrix then i connected it back up and used barsleaks to seal it, similar to radweld. At the momemt its still leak free (fingers crossed) after using the barsleaks.

ouch £150 was that with all the parts as well its getting to cold now to bypass it so looks like its gunna have to get done thanxs guys. hopefully the radweld holds out for now
