Hi,

I have a Fiat Punto 1.25 8v ELX.
Recently I put an induction kit on. The power gains I have to say were noticable.
But the crank case breather (I think that's what it is). I noticed that cycles the emissions from the engine back into the engine through the air filter.
Now I bought a straight hose to put this near to the air filter. After doing this I have less power than when I didn't have the induction kit.
Also, with the induction kit on before, the sound was great, now that sound has gone.
I am so confused?

The breather pipe needs to go either inside the induction piping (i.e so the gasses/oil are not sucked through the air filter) or you need to fit a catch tank to the end of the breather and have it seperate to the air filter. (i.e. so no gasses/oil is fed back into the engine

Well, thats how it is.
Upon inspection I found thw following:

My Air intake has a cone on the top (dual cone). The metal bit in the middle has fallen off, gone through the pipe and sat itself on the throttle body, thus only allowing tiny amounts of air through.

I was very lucky. Any smaller and I wouldn't have an engine at all.

Cheers for advice though.
