Hi, ive got a problem- ive just put some blue LEDs in behind my center console, but theyre really dim, anybody know how to get them to shine through better, or is it a case of buying a load of 12v blue LEDs, wiring them in paralel in front of the different numbers etc.....?

cheers

yep i have, but theyre really dim, wondering if theres any way to like take the orange filter off and leave the symbols there or just put more LEDS behind the center console.....

i think there are orange filters as the original bulbs are white. My blue leds only shine through the dials where the filter has been removed. am tempted to put white back in but replace the orange filters with blue so it shines properly.

not sure how to remove it from the symbols though.

im talking about the center console not the dials- cheers anyway though mate...

Its 4 type 286 leds you need if anyones wondering by the way

did you not just simply replace the original ones with blue LED's?

there isn't an orange filter on the dials iirc. Are you sure you've used the correct bulbs mate?

they're the right leds but like you said before it won't shine through the orange bits. I've still got my original black centre console which i replaced with a silver sporting one so i'll check to see what filters there are and if it'll be possible to replace with blue.

anyone been able to make the orange surround for the cig lighter blue?

i think this is just going to be a no go, cos unless you can remove the sprayed on orange behind the psrayed on white, with only removing the one orange layer- which you cant do well (or at least not well enough for me to be happy with it)

The only way i can think to do it is to sand the plastic trims back to clear plastic, get some very small vinyl letters + symbols, put them in place, spray that side black, then peel the vinyl off leaving clear plastic behind it which is visible at day and night...

I tried this last night (dads a signmaker) and couldnt cut the numbers small enough, so need to either give up or find a better machine....
