hello,

can i put a seat ibiza turbo 1.8 rear exhaust box to replace my hgt original one?
will it cause any prob?

I presume you mean as a straight swap, rather than using any sleeving, cutting or welding.

Doubt it.. the pipe bore will be different, the run of the exhaust will be different, the silencer won't be the right shape or size to fit in the the right place and the mounting brackets won't line up.

all the necessary adjustments will be done,
i want to be sure that placing a different exhaust box will not damage my engine or diminish his power.

p.s

i got the ibiza exhaust for free and mine is in poor condition.
thats why i am asking

thx

Ah.. in that case, the beast will be okay. The main thing the engine wants is a manifold and front pipe that is the correct tuned length for the engine and the right diameter to expel gas.

The manufacturer takes a lot of trouble to make sure these are optimised to work with the silencers. The middle box makes the most difference to the engine as it's the first real obstacle after the catalyst.

The rear box just has to "fit". If you can bend it or weld it to make it fit, then the volume of the silencer will be fine, as the Ibitza engine is fairly similar size to the HGT (volume of gas will be similar).
