Do Punto mk2's not have a rev counter? If not how do you know when to change gear, do you just do it by speed/sound?

Also does anyone know the power of the 4 speakers in the mk2 in watts.

Some mk2's do and some don't. You should be able to feel when the car needs to change gear and hear also, i think prior to 2002, some mk2s didn't haven't a rev counter.

The bog standard 1.2 8v doesnt have a rev counter

I know the sporting, hgt and jtd models do. Not sure about the active sport.

Some do, I have a active 8v and i have a rev counter lol

it depends on the year. . all mk2b's have rev counters and all but the basic mk2's do also

all mk2's after 2002 had rev counters, when the new engine was introduced, prior to the new line up of active/sport, etc, the bottom of the range ones didnt, think they will still S wernt they

Actually my 1.2 8v ELX model does have the rev counter

Bugger, seems liek mine is about teh only 1.2 8v without one!

people actually look at rev counters to change gears, erm don't think so.

When learning to drive its important.

I need to get one cos i listen to my music loud and i will look down and see that im going 20mph in gear one lol

gear one goes to 20pmh gear 3 goes to 40mph gear 4 goes to 60mph and gear 5 goes to 110mph lol i av only ever reached 105mph

The original mk2 in the basic trim and 1.2 8v dubbed 'mia' Doesn't have a rev counter, all others including active (that came a bit later) come with rev counters.

Its easy to fit a new dash display just get one from scrap / salvage yard with less mileage than your car and get dealer to update mileage . All the wiring is there ready availible IIRC.

my 8v 1.2 elx has a rev counter, mk2 y reg

No its an active sport which is the sporty equivilent to the ELX I.E not poverty 'Mia' Spec. Why doesn't anyone read a bloody thing I post?. :bang:

although i tend to over compensate and change gear to quickly rather than forget to change gear
