Hey, this will probably be a stupid question, but I do not want to mess anything up regarding the steering of the car.
I have a mk2 punto with the ugly plastic steering wheel on. I have just bought a leather sporting steering wheel with airbag from ebay.
I have removed the airbag from my steering wheel, but am having trouble removing the steering wheel nut! It seems to have little metal clips holding it in.
Now my question is, do I just use a flat head screw driver and bend these clips back to access the nut to remove it? I have already removed the plastic cover over the nut.
If I do need to bend the clip back, would I be able to use this clip again on my new wheel? My Haynes manual says that I have to use a new nut when installing a new steering wheel. Is this the case or can I just use my old one?
Thanks for your help. I don't want to mess up my steering and render my car useless .
Cheers,
Paul
