i recently had my frontpipe replaced on my 96 1.1 55s punto, and i have had problems ever since the car starts fine never stalls never misfires, from cold its fine but after a while i get a sudden loss of power usually in second gear for about a second or more then the car kicks in again and is ok in 3rd 4th and 5th,this allways seems to happen in 2nd gear the management light never comes on,im just wondering if its a lambda sensor fault or as i serviced it last month i found oil on spark plug 1 next to the timing belt if it was the spark plug mounting, any ideas would be useful guys.Ive owned this car for 3 years and the car has done 38000 miles good little car new battery the odd tyre ignition coils and one shock absorber about 300 quid the lot so fairly cheap id say

could be lambda sensor them exhaust guy dont take care of them, usaly they just leave them hanging to get bashed about whilst they fit new exhaust.
oil on plug could be whats dripped down when you have filled engine with oil then as you undo the plug it seeps over the bottom of it,
