Hi all, I'm new here, i bought a punto sporting about a month ago, the other week i blew a tyre and then got a new one, last week didnt see a big hole in the road and blew the same tyre. Its when i was putting the spare on that i noticed that what had happened the tyre had just caught the suspension bolt. The car has got 17" alloys on it. Does anyone know where I can get some spacers for the rear, would I have to put them on both sides as it only seems to happen to the rear left tyre. I'm in Bristol and would like to get them asap, also what bolts would i need.
cheers

Hi mate,

Yes you will need spacers on both sides. When it comes to wheels, suspension or brakes, you should always do things in pairs! The size of the spacers will depend by how much it is catching on the wheel. Is it just slightly catching it, or really smashing into it as such? Either way, the way to sort it is spacers. If you go any thicker than about 3mm then you will need to buy longer wheel bolts to!

EDIT: nearly forgott to answer your question LOL. You can find spacers on places like E-bay and also CLICKY

Hope that helps,
Alan

well the hole on the tyre is close to the tyre wall so I was thinking of getting 5mm or 10mm because I dont want to be buying another tyre again soon. I was reading somewhere about wheel wobble when spacers are fitted does this happen? The link above isnt working

If you get proper spacers, then you wont get any wheel wobble at all.
I have fixed the link now so should work! You will also need to get longer bolts if you are going for 5 or 10mm.

Cheers,
Alan
