I have a clicking noise when I operate the clutch on my 1.2 8v ELX, X reg 2000. This only occurs when the engine is at operating temperature and does not occur when the engine has cooled. I have seen previous posts re clutch click but no mention was made of temperature. Has anyone any experience of this fault?

Thanks

i have the same problem, fiat dealer told me i need a new clutch (which i dont belive) and it would cost me 250 for a refurbished one from fiat.

i also have a 2000 x reg punto 1.2

I had this problem a couple of cars ago, Fiat replaced the clutch under warranty and the problem was solved.

don't bother with the refurbished clutch as it will only go again go for a uprated clutch more worth while bit more expensive though

Punto GT Turbo, forge dump valve, samco hose kit, pace intercooler, k&n induction kit, s/s exhaust, bleed valve, superchip, running 15lb boost!

Oh balls.

I've got this too.

Only really notice it at traffic-jam type speeds though. Clutch seems fine. But makes a clicky noise (as if it's not moving smoothly) when the pedal is pressed/released.

Gears change fine and otherwise no noticable problems though.

Do you mean me Wolfrace?

Warranty is still valid for a few months and I would guess is not affected whether the car's serviced by Fiat or not as the clutch wouldn't have had any servicing carried out on it.

yeah coates. they replaced my whole clutch first and that didnt work,so turned out to be the slave cylinder.
i read someones email from fiatuk once and it said 'if you choose another company for servicing and they use the correct parts for the job, this should not be a problem for the warranty'

EVERYONE- SPRAY YOUR PUNTOS BLACK

Mine was a slave cylinder too. Clicking noise still gone after 500 miles, so Fiat replaced the right part for me & only £60. The actual part was only £12 rest was labour!

March '04, 5 dr 1.4 Stilo Active & Sept '00, 5 dr 1.2 HLX Punto.
