Some weeks ago I posted on this forum that following a battery change my remote central locking and alarm on my Punto MK2 didn't work!

Anyway, accidentally left the car open yesterday in garage with lights on (don't ask!!), and today when went to start battery was flat.

After it did its reset of everything, the remote control started working again - I was about to pay £80 for a diagnosis with Fiat

My advice, try it yourself if yours stops working

i whouldnt recomend people try runing there batteries flat as they may not charge again

howether i cant imagine why the rcl and alarm whould fail after a battery change mabey it's just an intermitent fault

best way if anything stops working like that is to simply disconect battery and touch leads together to lose any residual charge in ecu's then reconect in a positive manor to avoid power fluctuations wile everything boots again and reconect it with everything off and doors shut
