hello , just bought a backbox for my mk1 punto 55, and it has a 60mm entry into the back of the box, but my exhaust pipe itself is much thinner, does anybody know the diameter of the pipe? or does anyone know where i would get a pipe to convert this, thanks!

cant you measure it? Take it to an exhaust place and they'll put a reducer on it for you

measuring it would mean chopping it in half to get an acurate measurement and then ive got no back box lol, i was hoping to fit it myself but maby a proffesional is in order

unless you know a mate with a welder, then youl need to get it done professionally.
usually when i do things like this, i wrap a small peice of mild steel around the joint, then fill the entire thing with weld. its never pretty, but it works, and thats what you get for compromising :eek:
also, im lucky in that i have a workshop to play around in :D

No it doesn't.

1. Get a piece of string and put it round the tube marking the circumference of the tube
2. Measure the length giving you the circumference
3. Apply the following formula:

(Where C = circumference and d = the diameter of the tube)

C = Pi x d

Example; where C = 200mm

200 3.14159 = d
d = 63mm

You learn this stuff when your 12 (y)
