I own an 03 1.2 Punto Active and when I went to get in it today, I unlocked it as usual and when I withdrew the key the whole barrel came out with it.

I pushed it back in and tried the lock and it works fine but any tips on making sure this doesn't happen again?

Has something come loose from the rear that might originally have held the barrel in??

I,m certain I read a post on here a few days back about changing door locks and remember it saying that the barrel was held in place by a pin or similar so i imagine that its come loose and fallen away , sure if you search recent posts you,ll find it in detail

barrel (tumbler) retained by a horse shoe clip,the whole lock assembly retained by metal shield & 2 bolts.

On my Mk1 i had the same problem. Theres a U shaped clip behind the panel that hold the lock in place and mine had worked its way off. Bent it slightly for a tighter fit and put a dab of super-duper-glue on it. Not come out yet
