Hi,

Everytime i brake i get a metal to metal noise "most of the time" from the passenger side rear drum, and also the brake pedal has got soft within the last week or two.

Now im thinking i need to replace the shoes am i right in saying this?

Wouldnt be too hard would it?, i took the wheel off, but couldnt get the rear drum off of the hub. I removed the two pointey bolts, but i dont know what to do after this? haha.

Help would be appreciated, thanks!

If you look on the back plate of the drums there will be a hole (my have a rubber bung in it) stick as screwdriver in there to move the brake pads away from the drum. This alone may still not be enough to release the drums so give them a good old whack with a hammer and the drums will eventually become loose enough to pull off. Remember to adjust the "automatic adjuster" ie wind it in to allow for the new shoes. Get yourself a haynes manual also - plenty of pictures in there..........Also if you remove the hub nut you will need to replace the bearings, you dont need to remove it to change the shoes but it will make it slightly easier for you
