Stilo V's new Astra

Stilo V's new Astra

It looks very Toyota Corolla to me and even though I've got a Stilo, it seems to be showing it's age when you stick it up against a new model like that, but then isn't it always like that, it's what manufacturers do to make your car look old and buy their new one.

FIAT Stilo Sport. Pretty Much Bog Standard Really. Rear Roof Spoiler,
Sill Protectors, Aluminium Foot Pedals, Eibach 30mm Drop Springs.

I think fiat have missed a bit of an opportunity with the 04 stilo, could have really brought things up to date, added even more spec, but instead it seems to have been an excercise in rationilisation:(

Only model that seems to have benefited is Active Sport, sorry to rub it in TC;)

Stilo TURBO!!!!(diesel)

Thanks James, but I've got Ally Pedals and Eibach Springs, which once I've fitted my Skirts will be a better spec that the current Active Sport, then there's the K & N Induction Kit to go on and a free-flow exhaust too! So there! :p

I could have had 17s on mine, there was only £20 price difference, I opted for the 16s because lowering it and sticking 17s on it would have made the ride too harsh and I still like a certain level of comfort from my car, if I wanted it to be rock hard (oo-er) I'd go karting! ;)

The stilo is by far a better looking more stylish car than the new astra, plus you have the added bonus of driving a car that you dont see one exactly the same as yours every half mile!

I quite like the fact that Stilo's arent popular when it comes to that catergory of car, call me a snob but i like being that little more unique on the road!

Id have never thought the two looked similar until i saw pictures of them both from the same angle. I thought the diasatra looked more like the BMW 1 series thats just come out when I first saw one.

Just goes to show who is leading the way in car design ;)

Just spotted this old post :) - amazing how attitudes change, for the better as well.

Agreed... I think the Stilo is pretty ugly and this new Astra seems to be a direct copy especially at the back. Is interesting as you say Steve that the Vauxhall is bound to sell far more event though the Fiat is probably cheaper.

Yeah Stu.............................

but by lowering it and keeping the 16s I enjoyed a high level of comfort, that has now been reduced, the 17s have made a serious difference and you notice it on longer journeys, I can't believe an inch would make so much difference! I know, I know, Steve Cs Mrs said his one inch is wonderful!

i dont think the stilo is THAT ugly, i love the front end but the backend however, could have been improved. still think they shouldnt have replaced the bravo/a with the Stilo, they should have kept them in production and brought out the stilo as a seperate car. Fiat have some weird ideas, like with the coupe, great car, stop production. i am afraid if fiat dont bring out something similar in a sports car, i wont be buying another fiat.......:(

Astra every time for me I'm afraid! It's a great looking car, miles prettier than the Stilo. Not so great inside (fairly awful in fact) but then I can't compare the two as I;ve never been in a Stilo.

Given the choice, I'd get the Astra over the Fiat purely based on looks and my experience of Fiat's totally ****e after sales/customer service.
