I mentioned this ages and ages ago (over a year) as an idea and the response was pretty good :)

just a poll to see who would still be interested.

Basicly, an Alton Towers Fiat Forum Meet. Basicaly all meet localy early in the morning (around 9am) and head for alton. do what you would usualy do and a theme park and then come home.

Could also be made into a little weekender/night out aswell if people wanted to stay over localy the night before . Theres a few good places in cheadle (nearest big town) .. mainly the Master Potter pub which does good food and is the local young persons pub.. usualy loud music and some nice totty too :p.

I think itad be a great idea personaly but depends on the turn out. would be cool to have a meet non car related :p

I wanna go but i live ages away so have to find a B&B or stay in the alton towers hotel, which i dont expect to be cheap

its not cheap..but worth saving up for as its very  !

im up for it ........think it should be organised for this year sometime though (y) cant see it making much difference if its next year or this year tbh

well would have to be before august... gets stupid busy then and most people on hols etc. then later in the year is skeggy so most will be saving for that instead etc.

but anyway, there are loads and loads of B&Bs around alton towers. would be best to find somewhere in Cheadle though, then you can go to the pub :D everything is walking distance anyway. and every pub has guest rooms.. some better than others though :p

but would have to be a very early morning .. 9am latest meet imo. if your not gonna get there early then you might as well not go.

Also, ide defo say to make it a sunday. that way, stay over sat night.. go pub or could go out in stoke (pretty good ;) but would be shattered for next day). then go to alton on sunday itself. meet in cheadle car park and convoy :D would all be able to park together that way

hummmmm hangovers + rides = :dead: :shakehead: lol!

Alton Towers sounds good. Hellcat and i will need lots of notice though about dates in order to book time off work (work needs 4wks notice).

yeah i know what you mean about work.. its jus an idea though..

ide like to organise it as i might be able to get some kind of extra discount as i used to work for tussauds so MAY be able to use that along with my staff card and code to get a bit more off the group booking :p dont know if ill do a good job or not though :p just depends if people are willing to do what i say :D im sure my view of theme park visiting is quite different to most of you lot :slayer:

seems a number are interested anyway so will have a think.. will do a poll too now so I can see rough numbers.

Just a rough idea on pricing though, the parks closed at the moment and they havent updated there site for the 2006 season so im going on last years pricing :

single ticket - £27-£30 per person (group booking discount will make it cheaper though but as Ive never done a group booking I dont know how much cheaper it will be. lets say £20 - £25 pp.)

Hotel (if staying over) - £35 - £50 per room in a hotel/guest house in cheadle depending on where it is. there is always the travelodge in uttoxter which can go for as cheap as £26 a room if your lucky BUT its a good 10-15min drive to cheadle (morning meeting point and pub :D) so good if your not going pub but not if you are as you cant walk!

camping (if staying over) - there are loads around the area which range from £20 - £40 pitching fee.. although its really price on application, will be high season so not cheap. also not in town so long walking distance on pitch black country roads with no pavement.

food - on park is generaly just mc donalds, pizza hut and KFC. few other things but generaly high street fast food prices apply. of course theres always "Jugglers doughnuts" in merrie england.. you cant goto alton towers without gettign some doughnuts and a choclate dip on the way home :D

out of park, theres the usual lot of shops.. spar/ supermarkets.. etc.

umm.. the rest is upto you i suppose.. petrol etc.

Depends what everyone wants to do really.. if most are staying over the a night before meetup will be essential :D. but I must insist! 9am meeting.. no later! if you cant be up that early then your not invited ;)

As for people not liking certain rides -

theres alot more than rides to do really.. well not LOADS but there is other stuff. wouldnt all have to stick in a huge group (although would be fun :p)... plus im sure theres alot of people here that would like to come that arent keen on rides. Me on the other hand, just try and stop me goin on :p
